Artes De México. Lucha Libre Ii. Dos Al Hilo. Revista Nueva La segunda caída de Lucha libre continúa la reflexión sobre la naturaleza profunda de este deporte-espectáculo con un texto clave de Roland Barthes, quien nos dice que es un espectáculo excesivo. Así, exploramos las distintas formas del combate ritual: la configuración del mundo de la lucha libre mexicana, las mujeres en el cuadrilátero o la fantasía miniatura de los muñecos luchadores. Our second issue on Mexican wrestling continues the exploration of the complex nature of this spectator sport through a pivotal text written by Roland Barthes, who dubbed it: “the spectacle of excess.” From this perspective, we examine different aspects of this ritualized form of combat: the way the world of Mexican wrestling is organized, female wrestling and the imaginary world of wrestling action figures. This issue also delves further into the visual connections between wrestling and contemporary art.
